About The Author

Fran Thomas should have been a starship captain.

After overcoming the severe disappointment inflicted by both his parents and fellow mankind through the inconvenience of being born into an era that didn’t have the ability to offer him this perfect job, he settled on the next best thing – fantasising, writing and making films about science fiction and fact, on all matter of subjects.

As a filmmaker Fran has written and produced genre-mashing experimental shorts that have travelled the festival circuit, formed part of new media installations and been broadcast on national TV. He felt it was his duty to write UK Space History in an attempt to restore some pride in Britain’s space achievements, whilst conveniently providing an excuse to legitimately drag his partner the length of the country visiting any and all historical space related landmarks.

Just watching those two clips has set my pulse racing. Although I am no technologist or physicist, I would love to read your book.
if you wrote it so simpletons like myself could understand all the jargon, then I think you would be on to a big winner. Yet even in techy speak you would still cause a storm.
I should be writing today but what am I going to do now? I’m going to dig out my Enterprise box set,get lots of chocolate and nibbles and enjoy the afternoon to myself, with the very nice Vulcan T’Pol :)
